Chairman, DMET
A leading dental surgeon in the country, who
was awarded the “Padmashree” by
the President of India, for his dedicated services
to the progress of dentistry in the country.
He was commissioned to prepare “The Amendments
to the Dentists Act, 1948,” by the Ministry
of Health. |
He
is the author of the “Oral Health Policy
Guidelines for the Commonwealth Countries”
and “The National Oral Health Policy.”
He has been the Honorary Dental Surgeon to the
former Presidents of India. Prime Minister of
India, Ministers and Members of the Indian Parliament.
He is the Dental Advisor to the Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Mangalore, he topped his Master in Orthodontics
and Dentofacial orthopedics from The University

 The Principal
Dr. A.S. Rana, Principal(IDST) has done BDS & MDS (1998) in OMFS from Lucknow University (King George Medical College), Lucknow. Since 1998 he is in dental education. He has worked at subharti Dental College, Meerut, from 1998 to 2008 and then joined as a professor in OMFS at Institute of Dental Studies & Technology in Jun 2008. Promoted as Head of Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in November 2008 & Appointed as principal of IDST in June 2011.
He has started the idea of multispecialty practice at Meerut in year 1999. He is well know Maxillofacial Surgeon in Delhi NCR region with special interest in dental implantlogy as well as craniofacial surgery. He organizes weekend courses for clinician to update the latest in dentistry (Dental Implants & Minor Oral Surgery).
He has more than 30 publications in national / international journals. He is editor in chief of the institutional journal of IDST (Annals of IDST), reviewer in national journal of oral & maxillofacial surgery, journal of oral biology & research, U.P. Dental journal and has also contributed in a book on dental implants (Implantlogy made easy J.P. Brother Year 2008).
He has been invited as Guest Speaker / keynote speaker in many national / international conferences.
He has organized many state/national level conferences and also had the post of scientific chairman, 36 AOMSI
national conference held at New Delhi, November 2011.
He has guided many dissertations, appointed as external examiner for PG/UG in many universities.
Dr. Rana is life member of many national associations like AOMSI,AOI,ISOI,ISCLP and CA,IDA.
He has also conducted teachers training program & training the trainer program.
He has organized most renowned trauma skill course TSC & BLS (Basic Life Support) for the last three years at Institute of Dental Studies & Technologies, Kadrabad, Modinagar.
He is Elected vice-persident of Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AOMSI) national body for year 2012-2013 at Delhi in the 36th AOMSI conference and also Elected a member of National Educational Committee of AOMSI (to improvise the curriculum / course duration of PG Training in O & MF Surgery). |
